"Khan" is a Bedouin word for a shelter by an oasis in the desert; our own Khan serves as a cultural retreat center, as well as an accommodation for large groups of up to 45 guests. For events during the day, up to 100 people can use the Khan.
The space is divided into several areas:
Bedouin-style "zula", containing mattresses and pillows, a pizza/focaccia oven (gas powered), and a wood stove used for heating during the winter.
A spacious, well-equipped kitchen. (Meals are provided upon request; see our packaged deals and catering options for more information.)
The main activity space, with tables for working or eating, an audio system, desert cooler, umbrella heaters, ping-pong table, and an internal garden and hydroponic nursery.
Bathrooms and showers.
Room for mentor groups.
Outside there are two pools linked to the Khan: a pool containing a biological filter system, and a swimming pool that uses the cleaned and filtered water from the first pool. No chemicals are used in either pool.
Campfire pit and charcoal grill.
